lyrics

And meanwhile the academics are clamouring
Undecided on which ego they
should be favouring
They forget which one is which
amongst their drowning in abstraction

Suffocating
behind the walls
of their own
misguided creation

And the tide thickens
with every passing thought
Every memory
Pain and pleasure crashing
spraying their reminiscence
On the brink of insanity
I almost understand

Is this life worth all the misery
Can't deny greed
A failed system dictates our beliefs
feeds us insatiable greed
This world of broken dreams
Misguided ideologies
confused with absolute truths;
there are none
While society is constrained in capitalism
they have forgotten what it's like to be alive
As if this world was just a dream,
distorted and constricted,
and I cannot wake up.

And the tide thickens with every passing thought
Every memory
Pain and pleasure crashing
spraying their reminiscence
On the brink of insanity
I almost understand utilitarianism

Simplicity is tempting
Beside the ever-changing world of complexity

If I've learnt anything in this life
It's temptation over-growing sense of self
Creating the human in me
Forsaking my humanity
Is this life worth all the misery
can't deny greed.
